International Harvest Church Newcastle exists to advance the Christian faith, relieve sickness and financial hardship, and advance education. Under these aims, we take our responsibility to protect church members from harm and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults within the church seriously. We believe that safeguarding is a combined responsibility of all within the church community.
We are committed to:
• listening to, supporting and valuing children, young people and vulnerable adults while ensuring their protection within church activities
• encouraging and supporting parents/carers
• ensuring that children’s/youth workers are given support and training
• having a robust system for dealing with concerns about possible abuse
• providing a culture of open accountability, access, and awareness
• supporting and actioning the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead
• maintaining good links with the statutory authorities
